Ever wanted to visit Costa Rica? Why not join us for a Guided Trip to this May to Saladero Lodge located in the middle of the PiedrasBlancas National Park in the Golfo Dulce in South West Costa Rica.
This is one of my favorite vacations that we can now share with you. The Piedras Blancas National Park is one of the last primary jungle rainforests on the planet. Saladero Lodge is surrounded on three sides by rainforest and by the gulf on the remaining side. There is no access by road, only by a 30-40 minute boat ride from Golfito or Purto Jimenez after a regional flight on Sansa or Nature airlines from San Jose.
Imagine you and a few close friends or family exploring the rainforest, kayaking, snorkeling, riding horseback, fishing and just relaxing in one of the most scenic places on earth. End each day with a spectacular sunset over Corcovado National Park on the Osa Penisula just acrosss the gulf. Over 300 different species of birds call this part of Costa Rica home, including scarlet Macaws, Toucans, and most mornings you are awakened by a orchestra of wildlife including the early rising Howler monkeys.
Trips sizes are limited to keep the setting intimate and relaxed. If you don't mind roughing it or you have a group of more than ten, there is a camping option for small groups that can accomodate more participants!
About the food....wow...Harvey, Susan and Pauline prepare the most incredible meals. Local Costa Rican fare with some International options from other parts of the world. Fresh fish, fruit from the farm and fresh veggies from the market, we are thrilled at the quality of everything about Saladero!
