NOTE: For Private Rafts, set the PARTY SIZE to your desired NUMBER OF RAFTS. Tieton River rafts have an 8 PERSON CAPACITY. Without a doubt, the best overall whitewater trip of the year! Non-stop action, with hardly a breather, this is the fastest moving, and fastest dropping river in the state. The Tieton begins by blowing out of Rimrock dam (warmest river water in the state), just upstream from where your trip begins. Rugged volcanic basalt cliffs line both sides of this mountain canyon, and the sun shines bright since you're on the dry side of the state. Blast through Wild Rose, High Noon, and the unforgettable Waffle Wall. Our guides love this river above all others. Great riverside camping throughout the area. Itinerary

Day 1
You will begin your adventure at our Blue Sky Camp right at the put-in for our trip. We will have a light snack for you to enjoy while we distribute wetsuits, booties, life jackets, helmets, and paddles. After everyone is suited up, the guides will give a safety talk about the things you need to be aware of on the river and in your raft. Then, you will meet your experienced guide for the day, go over any questions you may have, do some practice paddling on dry land, and you're off! The Tieton is 19 miles of non-stop whitewater, and is definitely an exciting journey! The river trip itself is about 3-4 hours long. After you get off the water, we will shuttle you back to the top where you can change into dry clothes while we heat up the grills. Then, enjoy the best meal on the river with our top sirloin steak bbq (and other goodies).

Important Travel Information

Destination Location

The meeting place for our Tieton River trips is on Forest Service land, West of the town of Rimrock Retreat, WA. Blue Sky Outfitters Tieton Site Located off of Hwy 12, 1 mile East of Rimrock Lake Dam, 18 miles west of the junction of Hwy 12 and WA-410, 35 miles west of Yakima, and 15 miles east of White Pass. From Hwy 12, turn south onto the eastern end of Tieton Road(at MP 168), which is located approximately 1 mile east of Rimrock Dam - you will immediately cross a bridge over the river (note: there is a 2nd entrance to Tieton Road on the western side of Rimrock Lake - BE SURE TO TAKE THE EASTERN ENTRANCE NOT THE WESTERN ENTRANCE). Go about one quarter mile and watch for a dirt & gravel road (NF-580) to your right. Turn right on the gravel & dirt road. Follow this road west for approximately one mile. You will see the large Blue Sky Outfitters van on your right and/or signs to park - this is our meeting point. Recommended Gear List

Here's some suggestions for what to bring along:
Swimsuit or shorts to wear under your wetsuit
Fleece or wool sweater
Sunscreen
Change of clothes (to be left in your car for after the trip)
Towel
Any medications you may need
Water bottle
Optional:

Waterproof camera
Baseball cap or brimmed hat to shield your face from the sun
Cheap sunglasses
Guide Gratuity
*Note: Please do not wear any cotton clothing (sweatshirts, jeans, etc.). Unlike wool and polypropylene, cotton will not keep you warm when it gets wet.
Blue Sky Outfitters Provides:
Farmer John style wetsuits (full body without sleeves)
Neoprene booties
Coast Guard Approved life jackets
Helmets
Water resistant drybags on each raft (for extra sweaters, hats, etc.)

Alcohol Policy

Alcohol cannot be consumed on our rafts. Guests arriving for a trip under the influence of alcohol WILL NOT be permitted to participate, and no refund will be given. For overnight trips, if you would like to bring your own alcohol please feel free to do so. Alcoholic beverages may only be consumed after the trip has ended.

Cancellation Information

If you cancel within 14 days, there is no refund. If you miss your trip or are late for any reason there are no refunds or rescheduling. If you cancel 15 or more days prior to your trip, we will refund you monies paid minus 50% per person in the reservation. We seldom cancel or postpone a trip, but we reserve the right to do so when necessary: due to water conditions, weather, insufficient reservations, or other reasons beyond our control. In such a case, your fees will be refunded or applied to another trip, but not expenses incurred in travel.
