Mush-Inn - Longest Dogsled Ride in New England

1 Day Trip . New Hampshire . Cold Weather

Up to 50 miles of incredible back country winter terrain. Spend an entire day with your musher and dog team all to yourself. A true adventure, you'll find youself traversing a ridgeline, flying down mountains on quick switchback trails and surrounded by dense pines on all sides.

Explore the white mountains as the explorers did. With stops for hot cocoa, scenic outlooks, and high elevation gains, this trip has a little bit of everything.

Includes hands on interaction with our dogs, involvement in harnessing and hook-up, learning commands, stories about our kennel & dogs ... or if you prefer, just going for a great dog sled ride! Get ready for incredible views of the White Mountains (we say our dogs have the best view in the valley) and beautiful trails.

Even help drive the teams ... guides invite guests to get on the back and help drive/shout commands (at musher discretion for guest and dog safety of course)!

  • Ages 12 and up may experience this adventure. Please contact us if you wish to take a younger child on this adventure to make special arrangements.

Recommended Gear List

For this trip, you need to pay special attention to your attire, due to the length of time you will be outside. Check in with Muddy Paw to go over your planned attire. We have a "gear closet" of great anoraks, down jackets, mitts etc. that you will be able to use over the items you bring.

You will need:

  • Insulated boots with thick wool or synthetic socks - boots should be rated to 20-40 below zero for stationary comfort.
  • Warm gloves with a nylon shell
  • Goggles
  • A face mask
  • Neck tube - fleece
  • A warm hat
  • Nylon pants and jacket to keep the wind out
  • Several layers for warmth (Synthetic clothing will keep you warm, even as you perspire. Avoid cotton, as it will not keep you warm when it becomes wet.) Polypropelene long underwear is recommended, expedition weight.
  • Wool/fleece tops and pants
  • Hand and toe warmers
  • A Camera and extra batteries are ALWAYS useful!
  • Extra cash for guide gratuity (they work very hard to ensure a safe and exciting trip); as in most guided outdoor experiences, your musher relies on tips as part of his/her daily pay.
