The wettest way to experience the Snake River! The 8 man raft is a smaller boat heading into the big waves of Kahuna and Lunch Counter, so be prepared to paddle hard and get soaked. You do not need to have any more experience on rivers with this raft, just an adventurous spirit.
This is a very popular boat with limited space, so please make sure you request it at the time of booking. Kids can also be in this smaller raft although there are times during the early part of the season when our age limit for this raft may be raised.
If you would prefer a bigger raft, check out the whitewater trip in our Standard Raft.
What to wear: wear a swimsuit, shorts, and t-shirts, or lightweight clothes that CAN get wet. Try to AVOID cotton (jeans, sweatshirts), as it takes a long time to dry, sticks to your body and can keep you cold. Quick dry fabrics such as fleece, polyester, or wool work great. If it is chilly, fleece tops can work wonders.
You need shoes that attach to your feet and you do not mind getting wet. No FLIP FLOPS please.
We do supply splash jackets and splash pants for all trips. We also rent wetsuits for $5, neoprene booties for $4, and jackets for $5 with the package being $12. Wearing a wetsuit is a great way to stay warm for the trip.
You do not want to bring anything on the raft that you do not mind getting wet. Waterproof cameras are great and are available at our store. If you would like to bring your own camera that is not waterproof, you can have the bus driver take a picture of you before you get on the raft and then keep it in the bus for you while you are on the river.
Feel free to bring a change of clothes or towels with you and leave them on the bus. The same bus that drops you off on the river will also pick you up at the end of your trip.
