To Clarkston, Washington from Hells Canyon Dam:

8:30 AM         Arrive at Hells Canyon Visitors Center (1 ½ miles below Hells Canyon Dam).

                     Check in, orientation and last minute restroom stop.

9:00 AM         Boat leaves docks.

Noon             Lunch will be served at Kirkwood Historical Ranch.

4:15 PM         Arrive in Clarkston. Short shuttle to Red Lion provided. 

                     You are on your own for dinner and evening entertainment.

To Hells Canyon Dam from Clarkston, Washington:

6:00 AM       You are on your own for breakfast.

7:15 AM       Load gear onto the Red Lion shuttle and travel to the boat dock.

8:00 AM       Leave Clarkston.

Noon           Lunch

3:00 PM      Arrive at Hells Canyon Dam.

 Activities that will occur throughout the tour:

• Stop at Bernard Creek to view ancient Indian pictographs and an abandoned homesteader’s cabin. 
• View Dry Diggins Lookout at 7,800 feet and Hat Point Lookout at 6,900 feet.
• Go by Pittsburg Landing, the first access road into the canyon since leaving the starting point.
• Hear history and interesting stories along the Snake River and look at the confluence of the Snake and Salmon Rivers.
• Stop at Cache Creek for restroom break and to look at a small museum.
• Stop and view petroglyphs at Buffalo Eddy.
• Stop at the site of the Nez Pearce Crossing in 1877.
• Stop at Deep Creek, the site of the Chinese Massacre in 1887.
