During the cool fall and winter months bioluminescent comb jellyfish congregate in the waters of the Indian River Lagoon. These little jellyfish put on quite the show when disturbed by a darting fish or a curious kayaker. Here is the plan. Meet at the Snowhill Road Launch and do a little juggling of cars, boats and trailers before sunset and launch kayaks well before dark. Then enjoy the beauty of the river as the sun sets and moonlight takes over. The beauty of the river in the moonlight is eerie and at the same time incredibly peaceful and refreshing. As far as wildlife, you never know what you might see... eagles, wild pigs, the occasional gator, bobcat, racoon. Whatever we see, the river is one of the most beautiful in all Florida.
