Horseback- Ruta de los Arrieros
Adventure Matrix
Horseback- Ruta de los Arrieros
Duration: 6 active days
Price: *Please Call*
Skill Level: Intermediate
From Expediciones Chilei??s working ranch in Futaleufu valley riders will depart on a six-day horseback riding expedition. This is a trip back in time that few people will ever have a chance to experience. A life changing cultural journey.

Riders will visit small remote ranch outposts, and settlements without roads deep in Patagonia, Chile. Horses will carry their food, gear, and bags. Participants will combine camping with staying at small ranches. The accommodations are rustic country but clean, sanitary and cozy. Our Chilean hosts are selected and trained by Expediciones Chile. Eating a hearty meal around the wood stove, riders will gain insight to a way of life that is similar to the frontier days of the American West.

This trip is an extended version of their Espolon Valley Circumnavigation with two extra days to explore the Azul and Futaleufu valleys. The final two days will be spent at the Expedicione Chile eco camp located at the Rio Azul and Rio Futaleufu confluence or at their CondorNest Ranch.

This riding vacation is meant for experienced horseback riders. To consider these trips one should be a strong intermediate rider who rides fairly regularly at home. Riders should be prepared to face the elements on these trips. While the weather is usually good in the late Patagonia summer significant storms are possible off of the Southern Pacific Ocean. On average will ride six hours a day over incredibly varied terrain.

Expediciones Chile invites you to come explore what they call i??the best kept secret of Patagonia,i?? a magical place where hundreds of glacial lakes are connected by thousands of kilometers of pristine rivers, all flowing through the dramatic Andean Mountain range. Be enchanted by its natural rhythms, where condors soar in southern thermals high above turquoise rapids thundering through rarely explored granite canyons. Futaleufu means i??great great riveri?? in Chilei??s native Mapuche language and its reputation has made it one of the most coveted multi-sport destinations in the world.
