Intermediate Class III.Only minutes from Summit County! Two miles of continuous whitewater punctuated with breathtaking views of the Gore Range. A great family trip.
We'll meet you north of Silverthorne and shuttle you to our starting point, where the Class III whitewater fun begins. After changing into wetsuits and splash jackets (if the weather warrants their use), you'll get a thorough safety talk from your guides. Hop in the raft and start learning to paddle as a group. Before you know it, you'll be facing the rapids and working together as a team to navigate the river. Just don't expect to stay dry! At the end of the trip, an AVA vehicle will be waiting to pick you up.
Once you arrive at our outpost, check in with our friendly office staff and sign liability waivers. You can also download and print your waivers in advance. If anyone in your group is under 18 years old and will not be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, they will need to get their waiver signed in advance and bring it with them the day of the trip.
AVA provides wetsuits and splash jackets free of charge if the weather warrants their use. Wearing a wetsuit is often not necessary; they are most often needed early season, if the weather is rainy, for our Class IV-V trips, or for folks who get cold easily, such as small children. In addition please bring the following with you:
