Muir Woods National Monument is only 12 miles from San Francisco, CA and offers the finest scenery and Redwood Groves anywhere. This gem was created when William Kent donated the 295 acres of Redwoods to the Federal government in 1905 to protect it from being clear-cut.

We begin with a relaxing drive to Healdsburg to taste wine from two of the most popular wineries in the Dry Creek Valley; Kendall Jackson and Windsor. This warm California region has been long known for its quality Zinfandel and Petit Syrah.

Leaving San Francisco we will cross the Golden Gate and ascend up the nearby Marin Headlands with an elevated vista of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Ocean, Point Bonita (lighthouse), and the bay from Hawk Hill (920 feet). This a great way too see the California bay area!
