RA Guides is pleased to offer you the opportunity to increase your winter knowledge of snow conditions in the surrounding mountains. Feel safe about getting out into the winter wonderland of Colorado. Learn about the factors that make up an avalanche, analysis of the snow, route finding and proper avalanche beacon techniques. The first evening's clinic is at Alpine Sports in Boulder. The second culminates with a full day in the spectacular setting of Rocky Mountain National Park! For those of you doing the Avalanche 1 Certification, we will spend a second day on the snow honing our skills, digging snow pits, and running mock rescues. Our course outline is available. Gear Rental Package: $20.00 (includes: snowshoes, poles, gaiters, avalanche beacon and a shovel) Clinic times: 1st night classroom at Alpine Sports shop in Boulder from 7-9pm, 2nd day 9am meeting at Rocky Mountain National Park for your day on the snow. (Park fees are extra)
