Spend a day on the stunningly beautiful Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake on earth, and step back in time as you explore two of its most famous islands.
The remote island of Taquile on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca, was once a prized Inca territory. The islanders still speak Quechua, the language of the Incas, and the weaving tradition is particular to the island. Dotted with Inca ruins and stone terraces, this island reflects the spirit of Peru - a fusion of traditions and cultures.
Visit the quaint floating Reed or Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca and meet the native Uros Indians who have inhabited the islands for decades. The Uros people have harvested the totora reeds that grow freely along of the banks of the Titicaca Lake, bundled them together tightly and built floating island platforms complete with reed houses and canoes, creating their own little world.
With floating islands, dramatic landscapes and Inca ruins, this tour will take you straight to the heart of Peru.
