Phuket is the undisputed centre for snorkelling, diving and scuba diving. The island is virtually encircled by superb diving sites, two of which are Shark Point and Anemone Reef. Just half a kilometre separates these two marvellous diving spots.
Shark Point is part of a Marine Sanctuary set up by the Thai Government. The place is named after the docile Leopard Sharks that are often encountered resting on the sandy seafloor here. The official Thai name for this site is Hin Musang or 'Shark Rock' is arguably the most popular of all the local day-diving sites.
Anemone Reef or Hin Jom (Submerged Rock) lies just a little way from Shark Point. The fish life here is excellent as well and our friends, the leopard sharks, often are seen free-swimming at the top of the rock in six meters of water.
