Spot black and white rhinos and a variety of wildlife at the 96,000-hectare Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve. 280 kilometres north of Durban in the heart of Zululand, this is Africa's oldest game reserve and the place where the Dingiswayo and Shaka tribes used to hunt.

World-renowned for its white rhino conservation drive in the 1950s and 60s, the reserve is now trying to save the black rhino from extinction. With rolling hills, open savannah, and dissected by the White Imfolozi and Hluhluwe River, this reserve has breathtaking views.

Set out on a game spotting safari and you could come across some of the Big Five and other animals like cheetahs, zebras, blue wildebeest, spotted hyenas, giraffes and wild dogs. Enjoy panoramic views of the reserve from Hilltop Camp. Travel across the savannah and lookout for impalas, warthogs and bushbucks and a variety of birds that are home to this region.

As the day draws to an end at Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, appreciate the wildlife diversity of South Africa.
