Is This Trip For You?
This trip is the most challenging commercial rafting available in the Southeast. Significant previous experience is required, there may be a swim test at the beginning of your trip. With only a few days of releases per year, opportunities to train and prepare guides and equipment are limited. Early Spring and late Fall releases increase the dangers as cold water immersion and weather challenges may play a big part in the trip. Each release day is a unique adventure. The rewards of paddling the Cheoah are huge, the challenges are real.
