Full-day rafting trip on the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River with a guide in each raft and lunch on the river.  Class II and III rapids abound with the added challenge of Class IV Bull Sluice with a cascading drop of over ten feet from top to bottom.  A sandwich buffet lunch on the river is included with this trip.  The Chattooga River is a natural flow river, starting and ending locations are subject to change with fluctuating water levels.  PFD, helmet, paddle and paddle jacket are included in addition to transportation to and from the river.  Minimum age is 10 and the trip meets in Long Creek, SC.

Trip Itinerary

Please check-in at our Chattooga Activity Center at least 30 minutes prior to you departure time, you will be required to read and sign a waiver.  We are located one and one half miles North of US Hwy 76 on Academy Road just outside of Long Creek, SC.  Changing rooms and ample parking are available.  Your towel, change of clothes and items you want to keep dry and safe should be left in your car, we will provide a place to keep your car keys while on the river.  At the departure time you will receive an orientation, rafting equipment and be transported to the river.  All Guests will help carry gear and equipment to and from the river.  There is a quarter-mile hike into the river.  Five hours on the river will include many Class II and III rapids with the biggest rapid of the day being Bull Sluice a Class IV.  A full sandwich lunch buffet will be served on the river.  At the end of the rafting and a short climb to the bus you will return to our Chattooga Activity Center where your car, changing rooms, showers, gift shop and a snack await you.  A photo show of your trip will commence shortly after everyone has a chance to change into dry clothing.


Gear List

In warm weather; shorts or a bathing suit, T-shirt, tennis shoes or sandals with an ankle strap, allergy medications, sunscreen and glasses strap if your wear them.  A towel and a change of dry clothes for after the trip can be left in your car, we will give you a place to store your car keys off the river.  In cooler weather add "warm when wet clothing"; wool sweaters, wool socks, synthetic fleece jackets, fleece or wool hat, wetsuit booties, wetsuits, etc. I n cool weather cotton jeans, T-shirts, and sweatshirts are NOT recommended.  Better to be prepared for the worst than underdressed.  Nylon shell paddle jackets are available free of charge.  Wetsuits are available for rent but are free of charge in March, April, October and November.  Wetsuits booties are available for rent all season.
