If you want to experience Yellowstone’s backcountry, but don’t have the time for our 4- or 8-day trips, then this is the best way to do it. Even if you have never been in a kayak before, you will surely want to do it again after this trip. After a brief introduction of equipment and paddling techniques, your guide will lead you on an easy paddle to a remote area near the Flat Mountain Arm of Yellowstone Lake. After we eat lunch and setup camp, there will be plenty of time for hiking, fishing, more kayaking, or just relaxing in the peaceful wilderness before a gourmet dinner around the campfire. The next day begins with a leisurely breakfast followed by more exploring or resting. After lunch we pack up and begin our paddling back to civilization, arriving at Grant Village around 4 or 5 pm. We supply all the necessary kayaking gear and lots of good food. We recommend bringing your own tents and sleeping bags, but we do have some for rent if you aren’t able to bring your own.
