A beautiful climb through alpine meadows to the soaring SW Ridge of Wetterhorn. A nice ridge climb and final 4th class scramble leads to the spacious summit.
Itinerary
Day 1
Meet at the agreed upon location at the agreed time. Usually either Capitol City or the SJMG office in Ouray around 4 or 5 am. Drive to the trailhead. Hike up to the base of the SW ridge where we will put on harnesses and helmets. From there it is a steep hike and scramble to the summit. The roundtrip from the trsilhead takes between 6-10 hours depending on conditions.
