Prior rafting experience with Raft Masters is required! You will arrive at our Idaho Springs office, 2804 Colorado Blvd, at a time set up privately by our reservationists, where you will be greeted by our friendly staff. Then sign waivers, check-in, and take care of any outstanding financial matters. At check-in take the opportunity to decide if you are going to take advantage of our free wetsuit, splash jacket, and river boot use. Get changed in our dressing rooms and lock up your stuff in your car. DON’T take your car keys on the river! We will then fit you with a life jacket and a helmet. Let’s get to the river! We’ll transport you to the river in one of our vans or busses, give you a thorough safety talk and paddling instructions before your adventure begins. This 12 mile trip is the most extreme trip we offer so get to know your guide on the shuttle to the river because these extreme rapids start as soon as you hit the water! You and your crew will navigate class IV and V rapids like Meat and Bones, and Lumpy’s, eventually ending at Kermits. There you will rendezvous with a Raft Masters’ vehicle which will transport you the short distance back to our headquarters. Once you have returned to Raft Masters, check-in your rafting equipment, and change into your dry clothes. Then join us in the gift shop to check out your action-packed photos and to listen to the wild stories of the day. Also you will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs for yourself or a friend or family member who couldn’t make the trip.

Itinerary

Gear List

We provide all your river gear:

Raft Masters’ FREE wetsuit, river boot and paddle jacket use allows you to “experience the thrill without the chill.”  You will enjoy your trip in greater comfort and safety.  Our wetsuits and boots are washed and rinsed after every use, and we have most adult and child sizes.  For your safety, helmets are required and provided on all trips.

• Footwear:  If you don’t want to take advantage of our free river booties, you should bring shoes that fit securely on your feet and can get wet.  Tennis shoes, sport sandals that strap on, or water shoes.  No Flip Flops.

• Swimsuit or quick-drying shorts (nylon etc.) to wear under your wetsuits.  Fleece, polypropylene or other synthetic base layers are great additional layers in case we have cold or rainy weather.  These materials insulate you and keep you warm when you’re wet. We recommend that you DO NOT wear cotton on the river. Once wet it stays wet and makes you colder. Save the cotton clothing to change into after your trip.

• Sunglasses and strap to secure glasses

• Sunscreen and lip balm with sunscreen

• Water Bottle

• Dry clothes for after the trip.

NOTE:  FOR YOUR CONVINENCE WE CARRY ALL THESE ITEMS IN OUR GIFT SHOP

FOR THE ROPES AND RAFTS PACKAGE

• Dry shorts and tee shirt

• Dry socks and tennis shoes or hiking boots.

• Duffle bag for shorts, shirt, socks, and shoes.
