This trip is perfect for those who wish to see Ouray County at its best! It combines a half day of rafting and a half day of exploring the Ouray area and its hot springs; and, since it begins and ends at your hotel, this RIGS experience is guaranteed be something you will never forget.
Your full-day of adventure and relaxation begins at scenic Red Mountain Pass. This pass is named for the surrounding mountains, which have a high content of iron oxide, and offers uncompromising views of the surrounding area including of the valley floor, which is often 1,000 feet below the road.
As we arrive in Ridgway, your guides will be waiting to gear you up, and the real adventure will begin: rafting the Lower Uncompahgre is definitely an experience to remember! This beautiful section of guided class II and III whitewater offers fun, splashy rapids and excellent bird watching. It is even possible to see a deer or an elk if one looks closely.
After drying off and swapping stories, we will head back to Ouray for some relaxation. Ouray offers spectacular scenery, hiking and shopping and has an historic downtown area that is surrounded by natural wonders. Our recommendation is the Ouray Hot Springs Pool with full-access passes included; however, combining this soak with other opportunities in Ouray is a fantastic idea! A soak-n-hike can lead you to beautiful waterfalls while a soak-n-shop provides chance to see galleries, jewelery and unique gifts. No matter what, Ouray promises to provide you Colorado-style relaxation.
