The Royal Gorge is Colorado Whitewater at its' best, and is consistently considered one of the top 10 whitewater runs in the country! With towering, thousand foot canyon walls and unforgettable rapids, this trip is guaranteed to thrill even the most experienced whitewater enthusiasts. Expect big drops and crashing waves while rafting through rapids such as Sunshine Falls, Boat Eater, and Wall Slammer. In addition to the amazing whitewater, you'll float under the world's highest suspension bridge at over 1,100 feet tall! This trip is an AAE Exclusive and takes you through both Bighorn Sheep Canyon and the Royal Gorge. This trip also includes a gourmet riverside lunch at our private riverside pavilion! These trips leave from our Royal Gorge office, 10 miles west of Cañon City.
**The minimum age for this trip is 16**
Itinerary
Royal Gorge Full Day Trip
-Check in with one of our Guest Services Representatives at our Cañon City office 30 minutes prior to the departure of your trip.
-Use our changing facilities to get into your rafting gear.
-Lock your clothes and valuables in your car.
-Return your keys to the check-in office for safe keeping while on your trip.
-A Guest Services Representative will direct you on where to meet your guide.
-Enjoy a 2-3 hour warm up through the fun rapids and gorgeous scenery of Bighorn Sheep Canyon!
-Pull up to our riverside facility for a gourmet lunch at our private pavilion. Add or remove layers of clothing, let the dog out, relax...you have a great afternoon ahead of you!
-After lunch, hop back onto your boat and head into the world-class rapids of the Royal Gorge!
-After a short ride back to our office, get your keys from one of our Guest Services Representatives and change back into your dry clothes.
-Browse through our retail store for fun souvenirs.
-Check out the pictures of your boat rafting through 'Sunshine' rapid!
