This course is designed both for those who have never rolled but want to learn, and those that have been kayaking for years but want to improve their roll technique. Student to instructor ratios are kept to 4:1, so you can be sure to get individual attention. This course focuses on teaching an effective hip snap, proper paddle placement, and then putting it all together for a bomber roll! Gear is provided if you need it, or you can bring your own.
Itinerary
Itinerary

The roll class teaches the basics of a "C-to-C" or Sweep roll by working on hip-snaps, head position and proper paddle placement and then putting it all together. Our focus is to find out what roll works best for you and your individual technique so you are rolling, rolling, rolling and ready for the river!

Gear List

Bring the same clothing you would bring to swim in the pool (swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, etc.). You may also wish to bring goggles and/or nose plugs. If your body temp tends to run on the cold side, you may also want to bring a long sleeve non-cotton shirt to wear as you will be in the water for two hours. Rash guards, fleece, neoprene and most types of long underwear shirts work well for keeping you warm.
