Expediciones Chile's Patagonia Ranch Ride is a spectacular horseback riding circuit through the lakes, rivers, and old growth forests of the Futaleufu River valley.
This horseback ride circumnavigates the core of the untouched Futaleufu Valley, exposing you to Patagonian nature in all of its wild splendor. In addition riders will stay at real working ranches run by pioneer families that are sprinkled along the rivers and lakes of the valley. The accommodations are rustic country but clean, sanitary and cozy. The Chilean hosts are selected and trained by Expediciones Chile. Eating your hearty meals around the wood stove, you will gain insight to a way of life that is similar to the frontier days of the American west. This cultural and natural experience can not be matched anywhere.
This vacation is the REAL DEAL. The valley contains lots of exciting history from the days the pioneers settled it and many are still alive. As the trip progress`s you realize you are beginning to understand this remote section of Patagonia and its people. This is a very unique horseback riding vacation
This riding vacation is meant for experienced horseback riders. To consider these trips one should be a strong intermediate rider who rides fairly regularly at home. Riders should be prepared to face the elements on these trips. While the weather is usually good in the late Patagonia summer, significant storms are possible off of the Southern Pacific Ocean. On average will ride six hours a day over incredibly varied terrain.
Expediciones Chile invites you to come explore what they call "the best kept secret of Patagonia," a magical place where hundreds of glacial lakes are connected by thousands of kilometers of pristine rivers, all flowing through the dramatic Andean Mountain range. Be enchanted by its natural rhythms, where condors soar in southern thermals high above turquoise rapids thundering through rarely explored granite canyons. Futaleufu means "great great river" in Chile's native Mapuche language and its reputation has made it one of the most coveted multi-sport destinations in the world.
