This is an Incredible Adventure to one of Yosemite's Treasures! The hike to the top of Half Dome from the valley floor is a 16.4-mile strenuous 2-day hike with a 4,737-elevation gain up to 8,884 feet. Most of the trail that leads to Half Dome is the John Muir trail which starts at Happy Isles and leads all the way to the summit of Mt. Whitney 210 miles away. Half Dome is a magnificent crown of granite and plutonic rock that thrusts up to 11,385 feet inside the Yosemite National Park. Half Dome is a glory to behold.

We will meet Friday evening and camp out in Curry Village. On Saturday, we will begin the hike up to the top of Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls via the Mist Trail. The Vernal/Nevada Falls Loop is considered to be among the park's most scenic hikes. Then on to Little Yosemite Valley and to the shoulder of Half-Dome, where we will camp for the night. Sunday we will get up early and do an early morning ascent of Half Dome. Mid-morning snack on the top of Half Dome, then descent and hike out to the Valley Floor.

Tips About Hiking
