<P><FONT face=Arial>Beginner Surfing l is our popular two-day surf clinic that lasts three hours each day on two consecutive days. You are welcome to join us for just one day although we highly recommend that the beginner surfer with a true desire to learn how to surf take the full two days. So what will you be learning? This clinic was designed with the beginner in mind - we welcome complete newbies as well as people who have tried surfing on there own for a while and still need help. We will walk you through all the basics to get you started and catching waves!</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Arial>Participants will learn about ocean awareness, wave breaks, ocean conditions, safety in and out of the water, wave etiquette, paddling, push up and pop up techniques, as well as riding waves and balancing. All students will start out in shallow areas riding the whitewater until they are comfortable with venturing further out. Our instructors are all CPR/First-Aid and lifeguard certified, and ready to teach you the basics of surfing.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face=Arial>We provide a safe and non-threatening environment for the beginning surfer - no angry localism here! Come have fun learning how to surf and explore the wonders of the ocean with our experienced guides. If you have ever thought about surfing and thought "no way", think again! Itinerary

Beginner Surfing 1 - Day 1

<P><FONT face=Arial>-Class will start with a brief land-lesson where we&nbsp;will teach you ocean safety, surf ettiquite, and the basic mechanics of paddling and getting up on the board.<BR>-Once everyone is ready, and after a bit of practice on land, we'll hit the water!&nbsp; Your instructors will be right there with you helping you to catch waves and give you instruction where you need it most.<BR>-We usually take a short break widway through (bring snacks and water!).&nbsp; During this break, our team of instructors will review the lesson so far and give each student individual advice.<BR>-Then back in the water for more waves!</FONT></P>

Beginner Surfing 1 - Day 2

<P><FONT face=Arial>-We'll greet the day, stretch out, and get ready for another fun-filled surf session.<BR>-The exact structure of this day varies with the conditions, but just like Day 1, we'll be in the water at least 70-80% of the time.<BR>-Other lessons for this day will include more intermediate techniques, as well as a discussion of purchasing and renting equipment, local surf spots, and how to start surfing on your own!</FONT></P>

<P><FONT face=Arial>Your clinic&nbsp;will be&nbsp;reserved and paid for ahead of time - there is no need to remit payment at the beach.&nbsp; However, our guides work very hard to show you a good time and do accept gratuities - it is an&nbsp;excellent way to show thanks for a good class.</FONT></P>

<P><FONT face=Arial>-This class takes place at Linda Mar Beach (also known as Pacifica State Beach) in Pacifica, CA.<BR>-We will meet at the south end of the main beach parking lot, adjacent to the Taco Bell.<BR>-Directions from San Francisco: From Interstate 280 South, take the Hwy 1 exit to Pacifica.&nbsp; Continue another&nbsp;6 miles. <P><FONT face=Arial>Our instructors are all C.P.R. and First-Aid certified - senior instructors are lifeguard certified.&nbsp; All Adventure Out instructors have&nbsp;a minimum 10 years&nbsp;of experience&nbsp;and are ready to teach you the basics of surfing.&nbsp; Maximum student to instructor ratio is 4:1,&nbsp;average classes are 3:1.</FONT></P>


Transportation

<FONT face=Arial>Adventure Out does not provide transportation to the beach.&nbsp; However there are several options in addition to driving:<BR></FONT><FONT face=Arial>-Check out the </FONT><A href=http://www.adventureout.com/forum/ target="_blank"><FONT face=Arial>Adventure Out Rideshare Forum</FONT></A><FONT face=Arial><BR>-The SamTrans bus (</FONT><A href=http://www.samtrans.com target="_blank"><FONT face=Arial>www.samtrans.com</FONT></A><FONT face=Arial>) offers direct service to the beach.&nbsp; Exit the bus at the last Pacifica stop called the "Linda Mar Park n' Ride".&nbsp; This is only a 1/2 block from the beach.&nbsp; To access the samtrans bus from the city, taking the BART train (</FONT><A href=http://www.bart.gov target="_blank"><FONT face=Arial>www.bart.gov</FONT></A><FONT face=Arial>) to&nbsp;Daly City&nbsp;is an excellent option.</FONT>
