For years my boys and I have camped on the Spoil Islands of the Indian river near Merritt Island in FL and played capture the flag or paintball war games till all hours of the morning. Now you can do the same - and more. Fish, clam or shrimp and then eat your catch for dinner or breakfast. See the beauty of the Milky Way and sit up by the campfire and tell stories into the evening. Then kayak and explore the shoreline of the refuge and see manatee, dolphin, birds, and return to camp for a home cooked or rather island cooked meal.
This is a great one or two night trip and can easily include many activities like hiking, fishing, clamming, capture the flag, paintball, stargazing, educational and marine science outings. But mostly, it's just pure fun, being out in the creation, sleeping under the stars, fishing and sharing stories around the fire.
