A former European colony, Cooktown is named after the legendary European voyager, Captain James Cook, who was the first European to have landed on Australian shores.
This small historic town is famous for the James Cook Museum which houses the anchor and cannon of the HMS Bark Endeavour. Chalotte Street has a quaint charm and is dotted with small shops, pubs, cafes and memorials of Captain Cook and other explorers.
This tour will show you the natural beauty of this region, notably the Black Mountain range and you will also enjoy a cable ferry ride over the picturesque Daintree River.
