This is the Colorado western slope's fly fishing dream trip on the world famous Black Canyon National Park's "Gunnison River Gorge". We offer 2 or 3 days of customized - guided Gold Medal fly fishing float trips. This unique canyon has deep rock walls, classic dark pools and runs clear waters of class II to III rapids. It is a Catch & Release fishery with a fish count of over 7000 Rainbow and Brown trout per mile and 1000 of which are 14"-35 inches. Gold Medal fisheries are 60 pounds of fish per acre and the Gunnison Gorge has over 400 pounds per acre! The limited access and unique 'Hatches' makes these very exclusive trips. A maximum capacity on our selected dates is 8 anglers, 2 per raft. Our professional guides will prepare your meals (lunch thru lunch) and set up the camp. There is a mild one mile hike down into the gorge and the finish point is easily 3 full days (14 miles) downstream at the Gunnison Forks Park ( our meeting location).
