Beginner Class II, Full day. Want a little extra excitement or independence on the Upper Colorado trip? Try our inflatable kayaks! You can explore the beauty of the Upper Colorado while splashing through the riffles in your own stable, rubber kayak! A guide will accompany you but you'll paddle your own boat. No experience required. Lunch included.

Itinerary

Door to Door Service A relaxing day with transportation provided by us. We’ll pick you up at Keystone or Breckenridge with all the gear already loaded. We’ll head right to the Colorado river, about an hour away. Before we get on the river, you’ll fuel up with a gourmet boxed lunch at the riverside picnic area. You Are Your Own Guide! After an orientation from your guide (no experience necessary), you’ll get in your own inflatable kayak, where the waves seem bigger and splashier and you have the freedom of your own boat! As you’re paddling, you’ll have an opportunity to take in the scenery as we float through the ranchlands and canyons of the Little Gore with the stunning Gore Range in the background. For more excitement, stop and leap from Jump Rock. Sightings of bald eagles and other wildlife are common along this scenic trip. After the trip, we’ll drive back to Summit County and deliver you where we picked you up that morning.

Waivers

Once you arrive at our outpost, check in with our friendly office staff and sign liability waivers.   You can also <A href="http://www.coloradorafting.net/files/pdfs/65f5b6a2-22ca-4c1f-af21-bbe15a5ffd91.pdf">download</A> and print your waivers in advance.   If anyone in your group is under 18 years old and will not be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, they will need to get their waiver signed in advance and bring it with them the day of the trip.

Gear List

AVA provides wetsuits and splash jackets free of charge if the weather warrants their use. Please provide your height and weight when you make your reservation so that we can bring a proper size for you. In addition please bring the following with you: <UL type=circle> <LI style="FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Footwear: Bring shoes that stay securely on your feet and can get wet. Tennis shoes, sport sandals (that strap on) or water shoes all work very well. NO FLIP-FLOPS AND NO CROCS  ALLOWED. AVA does not have water booties for rent. <LI style="FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Swimsuit to wear under wetsuit <LI style="FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Sunglasses and strap to secure glasses <LI style="FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Sunscreen and lip balm with sunscreen <LI style="FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">Additional Layers: Lightweight, quick-drying clothing. Fleece, polypropylene or other synthetic base layers (i.e. a Dri-fit shirt) are great additional layers in case we have cold or rainy weather. We recommend that you DO NOT wear cotton on the river. It stays wet and makes you cold.
