Advanced Class IV, ? day.The Eagle River (just minutes from Vail and Beaver Creek) is the home of Dowd Chute and offers some of the most intense and exciting early season rafting in Colorado. The quarter-mile stretch of river located in Dowd Junction is most aggressive part of the river. The constriction of the banks creates the chute that you will blast through. The water levels are not dam controlled and fluctuate with the weather. For this reason, each day we run the stretch we feel offers the best trip, depending on water conditions. This is a physically demanding trip. Good physical condition is recommended and a minimum age of 15 years is required. . (AVA reserves the right to change minimum age requirement based on water flows and individual qualifications.)
